Gábor Gerhes’s online work Save is a conceptual reflection on the vocabulary of web interfaces, specifically exploring the notion of “saving” within the digital environment. By isolating and examining the term “save,” Gerhes highlights its layered meanings, from the technical act of storing data to its broader existential and emotional connotations. The work invites users to consider how “saving” operates in a virtual space, where preservation and loss are constantly at play. Through a minimalist yet thought-provoking interface, Save questions the reliability and permanence of digital storage, while subtly addressing human desires for security, memory, and control in an increasingly intangible world.
