Fitness Center by PP Group (Katarina Sevic and Zita Majoros) is an art project that critically examines the intersections of sports, aesthetics, and consumer culture, also using a lot of irony. The installation mimics the environment of a gym, complete with equipment and fitness paraphernalia, but subverts expectations through conceptual interventions that question the cultural obsession with body image and physical perfection. By blending the languages of art and sport, the work highlights how the fitness industry commodifies health and perpetuates societal pressures. Visitors are invited to engage with the space, transforming it into a platform for reflection on themes such as self-discipline, competition, and the performative aspects of contemporary life. Fitness Center playfully deconstructs the rituals and symbols of modern fitness culture, encouraging critical thought about its broader implications.
