Anikó Szövényi: A land of self-fulfilling prophecies, 2001

“The website generates a daily horoscope for visitors, not based on their personal data (like birth year), but purely on the principle of randomness. Visitors receive five “predictions” for the day, which could be images, sounds, text, or videos. Although they might not understand or remember these predictions, as events unfold throughout the day, the predictions are likely to come to mind. This aligns with the logic of self-fulfilling prophecies (and the foundation of all fortune-telling): the subject unconsciously begins to focus on the highlighted aspects of the prophecies.” (Anikó Szövényi)
