Andrea Kirkovits: Let’s learn how to write without a mouse and a keyboard!, 1996

This work is a playful yet thought-provoking reflection on the early anxieties surrounding the digital age. As computers gained popularity, fears emerged that traditional skills, such as handwriting, might be lost. Kirkovits’s work addresses this concern with irony, suggesting the absurd notion that people might need to relearn how to write without digital tools. By spotlighting this imagined scenario, the piece critiques the over-reliance on technology while highlighting the persistence of fundamental human abilities amidst rapid technological change.
